The Heke Hiko-rau (HHr) and Poutuarongo Hiko-rau (PHr) aims to produce graduates with a solid grounding in graphics, multimedia and animation with an emphasis on the stories and histories of our people. It also aims to give our rangatahi a new vitality and respect for these stories and their associated traditions. Graduates will be encouraged to create and adopt Māori graphics and animation narratives.
Future pathways for graduates include:
- Graphic Design
- 2D and 3D Animation
- Web Design
- Self-employment and
- Tutoring.
This one year Heke (Diploma) is NZQA approved at level 5. The three year Poutuarongo (Bachelors Degree) is NZQA approved at level 7.
