Ngā Akoranga
The aim of the Heke Rongoā (HR) is to produce graduates with a good basis of mātauranga Māori, and who are able to describe and contribute to the promotion of good health. The course will provide instruction in the values, principles, and practices of Māori healing known as rongoā.
It develops bilingual and bicultural practitioners in traditional and contemporary Māori healing for whānau, hapū and iwi, Māori and non-Māori organisations.
Future pathways for HR graduates include:
- Rongoā practitioner
- Rongoā advisor
- Health promotion with Māori and the wider community.
This one year Heke (Diploma) is NZQA approved at level 5.
