
Te Wānanga o Raukawa aims to make its contribution, however small, to the preparation of our people for the new world. Essentially this preparation will be toward maintaining and enhancing the health and wealth of our whānau, hapū and iwi through being active participants in the knowledge economy and society.
A computer, selected software, electronic communication connectivity and capability are seen as essential tools to assist us in the modern world. Students will need these tools to enjoy the full benefits of learning in the classroom, home and online environs.
The Poupou Mātauranga Rorohiko (PpMR) is a compulsory basic computing course for year one students. More information on this and the Poupou Rorohko (PpR) course for year two students can be found in the student handbook.

These two programmes provide you with the skills you need to use computer technology within whānau, hapū and iwi as well as for your studies and mahi. These programmes run at the same time as our other academic programmes so your computer skills keep pace with your studies. For those who have no previous experience with computers, PpMR study is a pre-requisite to leasing a computer through Te Wānanga o Raukawa.
