The Poutuarongo Whare Tapere (PWT) involves study of the expression of Māori concepts, behaviour, values and history of song and dance. Graduates will be exponents of kapa haka, skilled and active performers with a working knowledge of te reo, composition, choreography and production. It develops bilingual and bicultural performers and composers of performing arts for whānau, hapū and iwi, and Māori and non-Māori organisations.

This one year Heke (Diploma) is NZQA approved at level 5. The three year Poutuarongo (Bachelors Degree) is NZQA approved at level 7.

Ngā Akoranga
The Poupou Karanga (PpK) is a part-time certificate programme that aims to provide an opportunity, through karanga, for women to savour the richness of our heritage, to call upon the knowledge of our tūpuna-wāhine. It aims to bring forth from each individual, a creative life, which reflects the values of our past, our present and our future. The Poupou Karanga (PpK) will imbue the participants with a deep appreciation of this traditional art form.
