Scholarships

There are a number of scholarships that students can apply for to help with study.

Poupou Scheme Scholarship If you are considering enrolling in our Poupou (certifcate) programmes this information is for you. Students may be reimbursed part course costs upon completion of the poupou programme.
Te Hinemanu Ruakā Te Upokoiri Charitable Trust Scholarship
These scholarships are provided by Te Wānanga o Raukawa to support tertiary study of Te Reo Māori and the teaching of Māori history.  Applications close 31 October.
Poutuarongo Reo ART Scholarship This scholarship is open to students belonging to the hapū of the ART Confederation (Te Āti Awa, Ngāti Raukawa, Ngāti Toa Rangatira).  One scholarship per hapū is available each year.  Closing date for applications is early February.
Ōtaki and Porirua Trusts Board Scholarships Scholarships to support secondary school and tertiary level study.  Preference is given to descendents of Te Āti Awa ki Whakarongotai, Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga and Ngāti Toa Rangatira.  Each year the period of application is from 1 September to the Friday before Labour Day in October (usually in the third week of October).
Sir Apirana Ngata Memorial Scholarship The Sir Apirana Ngata Memorial Scholarship was created by the Māori Soldiers Trust Act 1957 to promote higher education amongst Māori.  Applications close 30 April.
Teach NZ
If you are interested in our teaching programmes then these scholarships will apply to you.  Application dates for each scholarship vary from October through to March.
Takoa Database A helpful resource with information on range of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships from Iwi, Government and private sectors.
Toitū Kaupapa Māori Mātauranga / Māori Education Trust A range of scholarships to assist in the advancement of Māori education.
Kia ora Hauora Scholarships Database Awesome support resource for programmes in the health arena.
NZ Federation of Graduate Women A number of scholarships, grants and awards offered to assist women in their study pursuits.
BreakOut BreakOut is a database of awards, grants and scholarships for people in New Zealand.  It allows you to tailor your search to scholarships relevant to you and your specific study needs.  BreakOut can be accessed at most public libraries and also at Te Wānanga o Raukawa Ōtaki campus library.  If you would like help with this resource please don't hesitate to ask for assistance from the library staff at your local public library or at Te Wānanga o Raukawa.
