Hinemanu Ruakā Te Upokoiri Charitable Trust Scholarships

Purpose: This scholarship seeks to support Mäori language study at a tertiary level, specifically,

a. The learning and teaching of the Māori language, and
b. The research and advancement of the Māori language, and
c. The learning and teaching of Māori history, and
d. The research and advancement of Māori history.

Those eligible to apply are:
Any Māori school leaver or whare kura student intending to study at Te Wānanga-o-Raukawa.

Preference will be given to Māori people who include as a significant part of their tertiary course:

1. Te reo Māori, or 
2. as described above in Purpose a-d.

How to apply:  Applicants are to write an essay of 500-700 words about themselves. It should include some background information of themselves, their educational history, experience in things Māori, and their educational aspirations for themselves, their whānau, hapū and iwi.

Closing date:  31 October of the previous year that study is to be undertaken.
