The following documents reflect a major effort to describe Te Wānanga-o-Raukawa as a tikanga Māori organisation. The presence of the founding Iwi is made explicit and governance and management procedures that emanate from within kaupapa and tikanga Māori are set out.
Major challenges face the Wānanga as it seeks to maximise its contribution to the promise expressed in the pepeha, e kore au e ngaro, he kākano i ruia mai i Rangiātea.
These documents are exploratory because it traverses territory that is largely uncharted in governance and management. These are activities for which we do not have models that are undeniably rooted within kaupapa and tikanga Māori and extensively documented and thoroughly tested. For Te Wānanga-o-Raukawa these documents are a start and in taking this step we have avoided the pretentious title quality management systems.
