The Poutāhū Whakaakoranga programme will provide you with the competencies and confidence to take a strong leadership role in both managerial and delivery aspects of kaupapa Māori learning environments.
This course is taught in te reo Māori.
A one year programme, the Poutāhū Whakaakoranga focuses on delivery and teaching, advanced iwi and hapū research and te whakatupu i te reo Māori. As a graduate you will be ready to enter year two of the masters programme, Tāhuhu Whakaakoranga.

Entry Requirements: For applicants 20 years and over. An undergraduate teaching degree or diploma; five or more years classroom teaching experience; a high level of fluency in te reo Māori, both oral and written, as the course is total immersion and evidence of support from a hapū and iwi to be provided. Regular internet access, email address and computer, laptop, tablet or other suitable mobile device is required.
