Kawa Oranga is the study of Māori health promotion, sport and exercise with a focus on the promotion of wellness through engagement in physical activity.

Heke Kawa Oranga will introduce you to kaupapa and tikanga in relation to healthy lifestyles, and the role of kawa in sport and exercise. As a graduate of this programme, you will be an agent for the promotion of kawa oranga providing guidance and leadership in te taha tinana within whānau, hapū and iwi. You will also have completed the first year of the three year Poutuarongo Kawa Oranga degree.
