You will be introduced to the carving traditions and pūrākau associated with Tū-Māta-Uenga. You will be able to explain the relationship between whakairo rākau and Tū-mata-uenga, identify aspects of form and function, prepare appropriate materials for the creation of and demonstrate design conventions for traditional weaponry and create a traditional weapon.
