You will be introduced the customary and artistic traditions associated with Rongo-Ma-Tāne through to the production of an artwork.  You will be able to explain the relationship between Rongo-mā-tāne and describe the strategic layout of whakairo located within the whare, describe components of ngā rākai, demonstrate shaping and moulding techniques of whakairo rākau and appropriate use of tools and techniques.
