Our courses and qualifications

E kore au e ngaro he kākano i ruia mai i Rāngiātea

Now that you know a little bit more about Te Wānanga o Raukawa it's time to nurture that seed growing within.  We know that when you choose to contribute to the mātauranga Māori continuum you're not on this journey alone and its important you choose the correct course of study. Here you'll find out all the information you need to decide which Tohu (qualification) to select before enrolling.

Most of our qualifications at Heke (Diploma) level and above include:

Iwi and Hapū Studies - Develop taonga for your whānau, hapū, iwi as you undertake studies on your marae, iwi history, taonga, events and more. This is often the most rewarding part of study as you reconnect with your own history, marae, whenua and whānau.

The marae is our principle home; maintain and respect

Te Reo Māori Studies - Learn Te Reo while gaining a qualification. You don't need to speak te reo to begin your studies with us.

Te Reo is a taonga; halt the decline and revive

Specialisation - Choose from a range of interest areas all from a base of mātauranga Māori allowing you to walk in both worlds.

Rangatiratanga; self determination

We offer degree and masters qualifications to kick start or build on your career pathway while exploring te ao Māori and the Māori world view.

Your assignments will become manuscripts for the next generation and contribute to the mātauranga Māori continuum, the body of Māori knowledge.  Stand out from others competing in the same career space and gain more than just a qualification.
