He Iti Nā Mōtai
Early Childhood Care
Providing a stimulating and nurturing kaupapa Māori learning environment to manaaki the tamariki of students and staff.
He Iti Nā Mōtai is a reo rūmaki, whare kōhungahunga, early childhood care and education centre at Te Wānanga o Raukawa in Ōtaki. He Iti Nā Mōtai provides a stimulating kaupapa Māori learning environment for the tamariki of students and staff while they are on noho or working at Te Wānanga o Raukawa. We also extend our services to the community.
The guiding kaupapa of Te Wānanga o Raukawa influence our daily operations and ensure our staff have access to ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance the experience and growth of our tamariki, mokopuna.

Fees
Daily Rate: $4.25 per hour*
1st Child- $4.25 per hour
2nd Child- $3.95 per hour
3rd Child- $3.65 per hour
Casual enrolments are only charged at the hours attended. See Fees Policy attachment for further clarification.

Childcare subsidy is available for whānau who are eligible. Our staff are able to assist with applications or see work and income.
Childcare for Students
Please give us a call to enquire about childcare for your tamaiti (under 5 years old) during residential seminars or noho at the Te Wānanga o Raukawa Ōtaki campus. Please ring us at least seven days prior to arrival for your noho to ensure a place is available and that the arrival time with your child can be accommodated by the Centre.

He Iti Nā Mōtai is licenced by the Ministry of Education for 40 tamariki in total:

30 Over 2s (2yrs - 4yrs).
Hours of operation
He Iti Nā Mōtai is open from 8:30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday. We are closed for two teacher only days during all school holiday breaks and 2-3 weeks over the Christmas holiday period.
