Message from the Tumuaki to students: Residential noho replaced by online delivery for huringa 1
Te Wānanga o Raukawa (TWoR) is taking a proactive approach to the impact of Covid-19 in Aotearoa and globally. We support the strategy of containment by reducing movement and contact. Accordingly, a revised delivery model will be implemented which will see residential noho replaced by online deliveries for huringa 1 (semester 1).
This decision has not been made lightly as we reflect back to our founding principles and guiding kaupapa. Our role and responsibility in keeping our people safe has to be paramount. The key message today is that residential noho have been replaced by online teaching. All residential noho for semester 1 will be conducted online. You will receive further information on when your course will be available. We anticipate sharing this information by Monday 23 March 2020. A decision on Hui Rumaki Reo is pending.
The revised delivery model has given rise to an opportunity in the online space. We are committed to ensuring a positive learning experience. Pūkenga will be in touch with you with details on how to access your course.
Given online learning is already a part of the TWoR delivery, we anticipate that you will be familiar with how this is done, however if you need more assistance please be in touch on 0800 WANANGA (0800 926 2642). While the loss of face to face contact is a response to the current situation, we hope that the ability to do all of your work in your space, at your pace, and in your time, will be helpful to you.
Reimbursements of expenses incurred relating to this change will be made. Noho fees will be refunded.
