He Pānui

Thursday 16 April

Professor Meihana Durie, Tumuaki of Te Wānanga o Raukawa, has advised that he will shortly conclude his time in the role. This reflects a number of considerations, including his ongoing academic and scholarly commitments, and his continued work in advancing Māori, iwi and hapū priorities, alongside his wider work in advancing Indigenous priorities.

Te Mana Whakahaere, the governing Council, is saddened to see Meihana depart.  Te Amokapua, Dr Mereana Selby, said “Meihana has led with professionalism and integrity. He tangata pono, he tangata kī tahi, he rangatira.  We wish Meihana and his whānau well and sincerely thank him for his loyal service and valuable contribution.”
