Course Structure

Te Poutokomanawa Reo Māori is a 30-week part-time postgraduate certificate delivered entirely online in te reo Māori. The programme combines self-directed learning with weekly online classes, allowing students to deepen their language capabilities at their own pace.

Minimum age of 17 years. A level of proficiency in te reo Māori required. Must hold an undergraduate degree or have appropriate knowledge and experience to study at postgraduate level.

Ko te whakapakari i te mārama o te ākonga ki ngā whakatakoto me ngā tini tāwara o te reo Māori, mā te tātari arohaehae i ngā kōrero tawhito me ngā kōrero o ēnei rā. Ka tautohu, ka whakamārama, ka whakamahi anō hoki te ākonga i ngā hanga katoa o te reo – whakatakoto mai, kīanga mai, kupu mai, aha mai – e matatau ake ai ia ki te kōrero, ki te tuhi. This qualification is for those who already have a strong foundation in te reo Māori and want to deepen their language capabilities at postgraduate level - strengthening their ability to communicate, teach, advise, and advocate in te reo across a range of professional and community contexts.
